Who is Mike Oster? Mike Oster has been performing standup comedy in and around the Boston area for a little over 2 years now. He was always a fan of comedy and was very much interested in getting involved in the stand up scene and making people laugh. He decided to take the "Just for Laughs" class with instructor and long time stand-up comic - Rich Gustus. Since then he has been a regular at The Comedy Studio in Harvard Square where he loves to perform. He got to know the owner of The Studio - Mr. Rick Jenkins. With both Rick and Rich Gustus's advice and mentoring he started to branch out to other venues and has been performing ever since. Mike was living in a part of Newton known at "The Lake". He saw an opportunity at an Italian Restaurant known as Yerardi's. The restaurant had a function room and he was friendly with both the locals in the area and the management of the restaurant and decided to take a shot at getting a regular comedy night there. In August of 2005 - Comedy Night @ Yerardi's was established. The room which holds about 85 people was full. Since then, the word on the show has spread and Mike was able to start booking friends and big names in comedy. "It's a great room! The crowds are great and very warm. The comics love doing the show and everyone has a great time. What more could you ask for?" said Mike. Mike has a backlog of comics requesting to perform on the show and is commited to get everybody on. With friends helping out working the door, promoting, setting up the audio, spreading the word and performing Mike realizes what a good thing he has got going. "I don't make a dime for myself but that isn't why I started the show. I just wanted a place w here friends could perform and this area really loves the fact of having a comedy show in their backyard, that is what makes me happy. I am a fan of Comedy. I also love performing there myself and hope the show has continued success" says Mike. Morello, Myq Kaplan, Amanda Beals, Sarah Blodgett, Selena Coppick, Jen Dlugos, Sean Bedgood, Korte Yeo, JJ Leslie, Shane Mauss, Micah Sherman, Daniel Bromberg, Todd Sharek, Corey Rodriguez, Sean Sullivan, Maggie McDonald, Stash, Chrissy Kelleher, Sue Barton, Tonya Dalhaus, Kris Norton, Dan Sally, Liz Simons, Tuck Tucker, Sean Donavan, Johnny Joyce, Doug Chagnon, Jim Duffy and Winner of the 2006 Boston Comedy Festival - Dan Boulger who has made it to all of the Yerardi's shows since the show started.
